When the word earthquake is mentioned, the first active area thought of is California, known for the San Andreas Fault. However, California comes in second to Alaska, followed by Hawaii and then Nevada. Utah is ranked nine in the nation and Arizona is at 13.

With a 3.4 earthquake hitting south of Littlefield on April 8, and a larger one nearly a year ago centralized 48 miles north of Mesquite on May 22, 2015 measuring 5.4.
Residents in the area took to Facebook Thursday morning, May 5, as they felt another rumble from a 3.8 earthquake about 18 miles south of Bunkerville. More were felt in the early morning hours of May 6 as another 3.4 quake occurred about 19 miles south of Bunkerville. That area alone has seen at least seven quakes registering 2.5 or higher since April 7.
