SCHOLL EDGES IRACE BY ONE SHOT – HOLDEN TAKES GOLD

Rick Scholl started the day Tuesday a little apprehensive since he had not played for several weeks. That was soon gone as he played his front nine one under par 34 with birdies on the par four third hole and the par three fifth. What kept him from having a great round was the eight he recorded on his first starting hole the par four 18th and the eight on number 10. But his final score of 78 was just enough to beat Bill Irace’s 79. Mike Holden finally had the round he has been waiting for since his comeback to the MMGA. Tuesday, at Falcon Ridge, he shot 48-50-98 for a first place low net honor of 65. Hal Rundle (80) and Manny Lira (88) were tied for second low net at 67. Lira’s brilliant birdie on the first handicap hole, number 13 earned him the second spot. Terry Gardner (87) was all alone in forth with net 68. As was Don Mannon (84) for fifth place with the only net 69. Bubba Petrick (83) took 6th and Delbert Moore (88) finished in the seven position.
