Ms. Senior Mesquite Pageant held their annual fashion show fundraising event at Envy Nightclub on Saturday, March 5 where a packed house enjoyed entertainment, raffles and the wonderful fashions provided by many of the local boutiques and shops. Entertainment was provided by Claudia Nicholas former Ms. Senior Mesquite and ‘The Marvelous Wonderettes’ who open at the Mesquite Community Theatre on Friday, March 11.
The annual Pageant fashion show is the fundraiser of the year for Ms. Senior Mesquite Pageant contestants and the proceeds are given to various non-profit organizations and arts groups in Mesquite who use the donations to improve their individual programs.
The former and present pageant contestants modeled fashions, wigs and accessories from local vendors such as Crazy for Hair, Bealls, 2Da9nz, Sahaira Salon and Boutique and Stephen’s Hair and Boutique while Master of Ceremonies Bunny Wiseman did an outstanding job describing each ensemble.
A table full of door prizes was provided by local groups, vendors and individuals and were given away to attendees throughout the event.
The 2016 Ms. Senior Mesquite Pageant is scheduled for April 2 where contestants Elizabeth Merrill, Gail Laird, Judy Brittain, Jean Hardman and Kim Lyon will compete for the chance to represent Mesquite in the Ms. Senior Nevada Pageant in August. I think that was fun. It’s time for seniors to shine bright like a diamond, as the song goes. If I were a female senior I would join that pageant.
