February 24, 2016 Mesquite Local News Dear Editor:

On behalf of the 2016 Mesquite Republican Caucus Team, the Mesquite Republican Women, and all area Republicans, I want to express our appreciation to all of the Republican Volunteers, GOP voters, and members of the Mesquite Community for their tremendous help during the planning and implementation of Tuesday’s Republican Caucus.

Voter turnout was double our previous record with over 900 ballots cast. It was especially meaningful to see several Virgin Valley High School students voting for their first time. An event of this size and complexity is a big job to organize and accomplish. The many GOP Volunteers and Elected Officials gave of their time and talent with enthusiasm and dedication. They made a good Caucus happen under difficult circumstances.

The Caucus was held at the Hughes Middle School. The staff support provided by Maurice Perkins, Steve Walters, Penny Wittwer, Bubba Smith, and Kenny Mitchell was excellent and very much appreciated.

The combined efforts of our Mesquite/Bunkerville/Moapa community and the Republican Caucus Team resulted in a successful Caucus. The Caucus participants braved very long lines but got their jobs done.

Thank you all. Carol deGanahl
