Dylon Pocock Rachel SotaMesquite, NV – On Monday, February 22, Mesquite Police Officers received a report of two adult suspects actively placing graffiti on both public and private property. A concerned citizen had made a phone call reporting the incident.

Officers responded to the area and made contact with an adult male and female matching the description given. The male was found to be in possession of graffiti tools and he was carrying bottles of alcohol in his backpack. The female who was under the age of 21 had also been drinking alcohol.

Officers checked the immediate area and located four areas where graffiti had been placed with red markings. The officers were also able to connect the graffiti to several other incidents of graffiti and property damage which have been reported in the previous week. Through interviewing both suspects and interviewing witnesses, as well as through physical evidence left at the scenes of the property damage, and evidence found on the two suspects, the officers took both suspects into custody.

The male suspect, Dylon Pocock, 25, of Bullhead City AZ, was arrested and charged with: Four counts of graffiti, one count of furnishing alcohol to a minor, and one count of obstruction of a public officer.

The female suspect, Rachel Sota, 20, of Las Vegas NV, was arrested and charged with: Four counts of graffiti, and one count of minor consumption of alcohol.

Additional criminal charges are pending on both suspects, pending the results of other graffiti investigations which are ongoing in other areas of Mesquite.

Mesquite police Chief Troy Tanner commented about the incident, “We have zero tolerance when it comes to graffiti in this community, and this department will continue to take swift action by bringing those responsible to justice.” Chief Tanner stressed the importance of stopping graffiti in order to maintain the City of Mesquite’s clean and beautiful appearance. Chief Tanner commended patrol officers for their quick response which lead to the apprehension of the offenders.
