Mesquite Fitness Club has been officially open almost two weeks and they already have nearly a third of their target membership signed up and ready to go. The business is located in the old Jadde Sports and Sears location behind Dollar Tree at 1085 W. Pioneer Blvd.
Christopher Dizon, a personal trainer and manager of the new gym, said that Mesquite Fitness Club aims to be a second home to its members. “I want people to come in and feel really comfortable when they’re here. I want them to know that when they come in they’re going to see good, friendly faces. Not just with staff, but with the other members as well.”
Having owned a fitness club in Henderson and still maintaining two in North Las Vegas, Dizon recognizes that Mesquite is a special place.
“One of the things out here (in Mesquite) that is unique is how social people are. It’s so different than Las Vegas,” said Dizon. He plans to use that characteristic as a benefit to the club’s success, especially with the fitness classes that they will be offering to their members.
There are several aspects that set the Mesquite Fitness Club apart from the other fitness centers in Mesquite, and the biggest possibly being the age allowed for membership. With a parent’s permission, teens as young as 14 can sign up for a membership and use the 10,000 square foot facility. Most facilities limit the age to 18 and older. With the 24-hour member access, it is sure to accommodate all schedules.
The prices set for the membership seem to also be driven by any economic status. At just $25 per month with no contracts, the club pushes the envelope on reducing likely excuses for those who want to begin a fitness regimen.
Dizon invites everyone to come to the facility to check it out and decide for themselves if Mesquite Fitness Club is right for them. Non-members will be able to tour the facility during the day, usually between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. when either Dizon or the club’s owner, Stephen Paylor, is available to answer questions and possible concerns.
Other information on classes, training sessions and more is also available on their website, http://www.mesquitefitness.com/ and on Facebook by searching for Mesquite Fitness Club. There will be an official grand opening event announced in the near future.
