Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Nov. 29- Dec. 5, 2015.

Nov. 29:

Vandalism: An officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino in reference to a vandalism that had occurred to a customer’s vehicle in the parking lot.

Traffic accident W/O injury:  Officers responded to assist a citizen with a civil matter concerning a OHV accident.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer responded to a property damage accident that had occurred on I15, but the driver exited the freeway into Mesquite.

Nov. 30:

Vandalism: Police responded to vandalism along the trail system. A report was taken.

Agency Assistance: An officer responded to a local residence in reference to a possible contempt of the Mesquite Municipal Court.

Graffiti:  Officers responded to graffiti on a power box.  A report was taken and markings documented.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance:  Officers respond to a suspicious situation, open window, at a local residence.

Officers cleared the residence and were unable to determine if a crime had been committed. Their residence is a weekend rental and Officers were unable to contact the owners.

Citizen Assist: An Officer spoke with a local female resident who reported that a male friend was stalking her.  The Officer spoke with the male and female and resolved the issue. No threats were made or laws broken.

Dec. 1: 

Suspicious Person/Circumstance:  An Officer responded to a N. Sandhill Blvd. business for a report of suspicious circumstance.

Information was received and a female subject was trespassed from the property.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Police responded to a non-injury traffic accident. One adult female was issued a citation and a report was taken.

Vandalism: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd. business reference vandalism to a vehicle.  A report was taken.

Theft From Veh: Officers responded to a Eucalyptus Ln residence reference a theft from a motor vehicle.

Trespassing IP: Police responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference the report of an intoxicated

patron who was being belligerent and refusing to leave. The patron was cited for trespassing and escorted from the property.

Dec. 2:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer was dispatched to N. Willow St doctor’s office reference a suspicious note.  The complainant requested this incident be documented as a matter of record.

Parking Problem: Vehicle tagged for violation of city code 6-3-2E parked on the public street for more than 24 hours.

Welfare Check:  Officer’s responded to a Colleen Ct residence for a welfare check for a student.

Welfare Check:  Officer’s responded to a Riverside Rd residence to check on a student that has been absent from school.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Police responded to a grocery store reference suspicious involving suspicious money transfers. Information was collected and an officer’s report was completed.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers were dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd business reference vehicle striking a support pillar and leaving the scene. Investigation is ongoing.

Wanted Person: Officers were dispatched to a Mesa Blvd casino reference a male subject with a warrant. Officers located the male and confirmed he had an outstanding warrant.

The male was arrested for the warrant and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Theft From Veh:  Officers responded to a report of property taken from a motor vehicle. The victim provided a written statement, but there are no witnesses at this time.

Traffic Stop:  Officers stopped a vehicle for no visible plate. Officers contacted the male driver and determined him to be under the influence of alcohol. The male driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a local convenience store, in reference to a petit larceny.

Dec. 3:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism:  Officers responded to a report of property at a E Pioneer Blvd gas station. A driver had struck the gas pumps with his vehicle. A report was filed.

Truancy: Officers responded to a local school for a truant student.

Truancy: Officers responded to a local school for a truant student.

Theft: Police responded to a Sun Valley Drive residence reference a report of burglary and theft property. The stolen items were documented and a crime report was completed. The investigation is ongoing.

Agency Assistance:  Male subject was transported to the local hospital for mental evaluation.

Miscellaneous CAD Call Record: Officers responded to a Sun Valley Drive residence for disturbance over joint property. The RP requested officers locate and return the property. The investigation determined it was joint property and would need to be handled through civil courts.

Suspicious/Pers: An officer was dispatched to a local residence, in reference to a suspicious person.  The reporting person stated an adult male subject entered their residence, through their back sliding door, without being invited in.  This subject was arrested for trespassing and breach of peace.

Traffic accident W/O injury:  Officers responded to a traffic accident in the parking lot of a local casino.

No injuries were reported and there was only minor private property damage.

Vandalism:  Officer responded to a report of vandalism. A written statement was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.

Dec. 4:

Miscellaneous CAD Call Record: Officer responded to a citizen assist at the police department.

Found Property:  Mesquite Officer located unclaimed property while on patrol. The property was booked into the Mesquite Evidence Vault as safe keeping.

Traffic Stop:  Officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle for basic speed. The driver of the vehicle had a warrant for her arrest, and was transported and booked into jail without incident.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd store, in reference to a theft.  An adult female was cited and released for petit larceny.

Dec. 5: 

Minor Gambling:  Two under age subjects were cited and released for minor gambling at a W Mesquite Blvd casino.

Found Property:  A citizen turned in personal clothing, cell phone, and vehicle registration that was found on a local roadway. Items placed in evidence as found property.

Vandalism: Complainant requested a report for a matter of record. The Complainant at a Hiawatha Way address is reporting damage to his security screen door by sand bags.

Suspicious/Veh:  Officers responded on a single vehicle traffic collision involving a power pole. The driver left the scene, a report was taken.

Citizen Assist: A citizen responded to the police department to file a report. A report was filed.

Theft: Mesquite Officer responded to a Cottonwood Drive business reference stolen property.

Domestic Violence IP:  Officers were dispatched to a local residence, in reference to a domestic disturbance.  It was determined the argument did not become violent, so the two people were separated for the night.
