Enroll in a health insurance plan before Dec. 15, 2015 to avoid a gap in coverage
Consumers only have a few days left to enroll in a 2016 health insurance policy if they wish to have coverage starting on Jan.azz 1, 2016.
“Because 2015 health insurance plans will end on Dec. 31, consumers are strongly encouraged to choose a 2016 health insurance plan by Dec. 15 in order to avoid any gap in coverage,” said State of Nevada Division of Insurance Acting Commissioner Amy Parks.
Consumers who enroll and pay for a 2016 health insurance policy between Dec. 16, 2015 and Jan. 15, 2016, will not have coverage until Feb. 1, 2016. Consumers who enroll between Jan. 16, 2016, and Jan.31, 2016, which is the end of the open enrollment period, will not have coverage until March 1, 2016.
