The Mesquite Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Eureka Community Initiative raised just over $1,500 for the Mesquite Reads Program at their Nov. 7 book sale at the Mesquite Library. According to spokeswoman Nancy Hewett, they sold 3,640 books to the community. The money will go towards the Mesquite Reads Program that runs each summer at Virgin Valley Elementary School.
