Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Oct. 25-31, 2015.

Oct. 25:

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to Riverside Rd for a welfare check on an adult female.  After an investigation, her boyfriend was arrested for domestic battery.

Vandalism: Officers responded to a vacant residence on E Mesquite Blvd for a report of vandalism.

Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on N Sandhill Blvd that resulted in an arrest of an adult female.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers were dispatched to Paradise Pkwy reference a possible fight. Two subjects were arrested on drug and alcohol charges.

Trespassing IP: Officers were dispatched to a Poppy Ln residence reference trespassing. A male subject was arrested for trespassing, breach of peace and obstructing a peace officer.

Oct. 26:

Trespassing IP: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino for a report of a female subject refusing to leave. Subject was taken into custody for trespass violation.

Vandalism: Police responded to vandalism to a Marilyn Pkwy park bathroom. A report was taken.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers were dispatched reference an accident involving a single vehicle and a building on N Sandhill Blvd. No injuries were reported. There was severe damage to the building.

Agency Assistance: Officers were dispatched to a E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a female requesting assistance for an incident that occurred in North Las Vegas.  North Las Vegas Police Department was contacted and will investigate the incident.  An agency assist report was completed.

Mental Person: Officers were dispatched to a Rivers Bend Dr residence reference a female with mental illness. The female was transported by family members to the hospital for a mental evaluation.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to W Hafen Ln residence for a report of intoxicated female attempting to report her roommate was driving drunk. Upon investigation roommate was not intoxicate. Female subject taken into custody for breach of peace.

Oct. 27:

Dead Body: Police responded to a natural death at a W Pioneer Blvd nursing home. A report was taken.

Disturbance of School: Officers responded to the high school for a report of student disturbance.

Wanted Person: An Officer responded to the Mesquite Detention Center reference a female with a

local misdemeanor warrant. The female was booked for the warrant.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer responded to a property damage accident involving two vehicles at N Sandhill Blvd & I15 NB.  The officer completed an accident investigation and report.

Controlled Substance Problem: Detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with suspended registration at W Old Mill Rd & N Arrowhead Ln. Upon further investigation, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were located

inside the vehicle. Three adults were arrested and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Oct. 28:

Back Ground Investigation: Officer conducted business license check.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded reference a report of domestic violence on Bertha Howe Ave. Officers conducted interviews and collected evidence. A criminal report was completed.

Vandalism: Officer responded to a report of property damage to a rental vehicle in W Mesquite Blvd. Photographs were taken, and there are no leads at this time.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on N Sandhill Blvd who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Wanted Person: Officers responded to a E Pioneer Blvd casino, in reference to an adult male subject with a misdemeanor warrant.  This subject was located and taken into custody.

Oct. 29:

Welfare Check: Officer responded on a welfare check for a possible suicidal subject on Riverside Rd. Subject was suicidal and was placed on a Legal 2000 hold.

Sexual Assault: St George Police Department, forwarded a report of possible sexual assault to the Mesquite Police Department for Follow-up.

Trespassing IP: Officers responded on a trespass violator on W Mesquite Blvd. Violator was cited and released. While being escorted off of property he stopped and urinated next to a vehicle. Violator was arrested.

Traffic Stop: Officers arrested a male for possession of marijuana on W Pioneer Blvd.

Oct. 30:

Hit & Run: An officer was dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd casino’s parking lot, in reference to a hit and run accident.  An adult female subject backed into a parked car, damaging both vehicles, and then fled the scene.  This adult female was later located and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, and resisting arrest.

Keep The Peace: Officers assisted in a court ordered custody exchange between parents on N Grapevine Rd.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to S Arrowhead Ln with ACO on damaged property from a K9. Report taken.

Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to a domestic fight in progress on Eagle St. One adult male was cited and

transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation.

Suicidal Person: Officers were dispatched to a Riverside Rd residence for a report of a suicidal person. The individual was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.

Disorderly Conduct IP: Officers were called to a Mesa Blvd casino for a report of an intoxicated individual who was causing a disturbance. A male individual was arrested for Breach of Peace.

Oct. 31:

Theft: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business on a report of retail theft. The investigation is ongoing.

Minor Gambling: An Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd Casino for an ID check. Two males were cited for minor gambling.

Controlled Substance Problem: Police responded to a report of possible drug use at a W Mesquite Blvd restaurant. One adult female was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and released with a court date.

Found Property: Officer responded to a report of found property on Pioneer Blvd. Officer took custody of a bicycle and secured it.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers stopped a vehicle for a moving violation on I15 SB.  Officers investigated the driver for DUI alcohol.  The driver was arrested and charged with DUI alcohol, failure to stop at a stop sign, and failed to obey lawful commands of a police officer.

Intoxicated Person: Officers contacted a suspicious subject attempting to hide in bushes on W Pioneer Blvd. Investigation determined the male was a minor and admitted to drinking approximately twelve beers. The minor was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol.

Suspicious/Person: Officers responded to a suspicious person possibly making threats on Thistle St. Officers contacted the person and determined him to be a victim of vandalism. Officers took a report and gathered statements from those parties.  The investigation is ongoing.
