Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Oct. 11-17, 2015.

Oct. 11:

Found Property: An officer responded to a report of a found wallet on N Sandhill Blvd. The wallet was booked into the evidence vault as found property.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a private property, two vehicle accident with no reported injuries on E Pioneer Blvd. An exchange of information was completed by both drivers.

Missing Person: Officer responded to the Police Department for a citizen reporting a missing juvenile. Report was taken and juvenile was entered into NCIC as a runaway. Investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 12:

Theft: Officers responded to a Sun Valley Dr. apartment complex for a report of a burglary. Officers discovered a vending machine had been broken into. Officers took the report and investigation is ongoing.

Alarm: Officers responded to an alarm call at Stadium 6 Theater on W Mesquite Blvd. Upon arrival it was discovered the cleaning crew set the alarm off accidentally.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a two vehicle non injury accident on Pioneer Blvd at

Turtleback. An accident report was completed and citation issued.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to the police department lobby reference online harassment. A report was taken.

Theft: Officers were dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd casino to investigate a theft of a purse and wallet. Officers gathered written statements and the investigation is ongoing.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers were dispatched to the Virgin River Casino in response to a disturbance. One male subject was arrested for Breach of Peace.

Oct. 13:

Driving Under the Influence: An officer conducted a traffic stop on Canyon View Way. After an investigation a DUI arrest was made.

Threatening: An officer took a report for threats being made on Harbour Dr.

Theft From Vehicle: Police responded to a theft from vehicle on Cascade Ave. A report was taken.

Disturbance of School: Officers responded to the high school for a report of a student disturbance.

Controlled Substance Problem: Narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop at E Pioneer Blvd & Mesa Blvd on a vehicle containing drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and other illegal narcotics. Two female occupants were arrested for the possession of illegal drugs and equipment.

Oct. 14:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer’s responded to a non-injury vehicle accident at Riverside Road and Hafen Lane.

Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to an in progress domestic violence call on E Old Mill Rd. During the investigation the offender was arrested

Traffic Problem: Officer responded to a report of a traffic problem at the intersection of Mesquite Boulevard and Pulsipher Lane. A report was taken.

Trespassing IP: Officers arrested an intoxicated male who was trespassed from a Mesa Blvd casino and refused to leave property.

Robbery IP W/ Gun: Police responded to a E Mesquite Blvd casino reference an armed robbery. Officers and detectives processed the crime scene, collected witness statements, and are attempting to locate the suspect(s) involved. A crime report was completed, and the investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 15:

Phone Harassment: Officers responded to a Falcon Ridge Pkwy business reference a report of harassment. Officers gathered information and an officer’s report was filed.

Vandalism: Officer responded to a report of graffiti along the trail system on Riverside Rd. Photographs were obtained and a report taken.

Truancy: Officers responded to the high school for a student that was truant.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd parking lot reference a report of property damage.

Wanted Person: Police came into contact with an adult male on E First North St who had an active Mesquite Municipal Court warrant. The male was arrested on the warrant and an officer’s report was completed.

Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a Falcon Ridge Pkwy business reference vandalism to a vehicle. The report was completed with no suspect information or witnesses to the incident.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Police responded to a Leavitt Ln residence reference stolen property. A report was made as a matter of record.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male at W Mesquite Blvd & Palm Dr who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Oct. 16:

Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd apartment complex for a report of a fight in progress. After an investigation Officers arrested two females for Domestic Battery.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on W Pioneer Blvd who had a warrant out of Las Vegas Municipal Court.

Assault IP: Mesquite Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd hotel reference a report of simple battery. The investigation is ongoing.

Lost Property: Officer took a report of lost property on N Grapevine Rd.

Lost Property: Local female reported that she had lost her purse on W Pioneer Blvd.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers arrested a male for DUI, minor consumption, and basic speed on W Mesquite Blvd.

Controlled Substance Problem: Police responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business reference a trespass report. The adult male involved was trespassed from the property. The male was arrested for two active arrest warrants out of Pahrump Justice Court, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

Oct. 17:

Suicidal Person: Officers responded to a Hardy Way residence reference a male who committed suicide.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Mesquite Police was notified of a recovered stolen vehicle, located in Las Vegas. The owner of the vehicle was notified and given instruction on how to pick up the vehicle.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to a W Hafen Ln city park for a vandalism report.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An Officer responded to a two vehicle non-injury accident at the intersection of Sandhill Blvd and Hillside Drive. An accident report was completed.

Found Property: Officers were dispatched to the Virgin River Casino reference a found firearm. The firearm was booked into evidence for safe keeping as found property. At the time of this report the owner is unknown.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: Officers located several juveniles in possession of alcohol on Flat Top Mesa and Wittwer Trail. The juveniles were issued citations and were released to their parents.
