According to Executive Assistant Brandy Jenkins at Mesquite Regional Business, Inc., surveys taken from those who attended the Sept. 21 “Putting Mesquite To Work” job fair show that progress is good.

85 percent of the attendees looking for a job were available to anything they might be offered, while 7 percent were seeking part time work and 8 percent were searching for a specialized field.

Overall, 89 percent of survey responses found the event to be beneficial.

While some of the job applicants learned about the event through the MRBI website and fliers that were placed in various areas, a majority of them found their info in the newspaper through advertisements and articles.

The staff at MRBI and future committee organizers will use the survey results for future job fairs which will tentatively be held twice a year.
