The Mesquite Council of the Knights of Columbus, in conjunction with La Virgen De Guadalupe Catholic Church, is sponsoring an ecumenical prayer service honoring those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. During the service the Knights of Columbus will also award a gift to the Mesquite Police Officer of the year and the Mesquite Fire Department Fireman of the year at the end of the ecumenical service.
The event will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Friday September 11, at la Virgen De Guadalupe Church, 401 Canyon Crest Dr. Their clergy, Fr. Blaise Baran, Deacon Gary Jacobs and Deacon John Smith, along with several other pastors and associates from local churches, will help lead attendees in prayer. The Knights of Columbus will also have their Color Guard in attendance. After the service La Virgen De Guadalupe Church and the Mesquite Council of the Knights of Columbus are hosting a reception in the Gathering Space. A light lunch will be served.

Prior to the ecumenical service the Knights of Columbus will be celebrating their normal weekday mass at 9 a.m. The mass intentions will include those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
