Don’t miss out on the summer fun to be had or the knowledge to be gained at the Mesquite library.

Today is the celebratory day for those who participated and completed the “Club Read” program at the Mesquite Library. Congratulations to all those who participated.

The Clark County Library District offers many opportunities to have fun this summer for both children and adults from movies to family fun day, there is always something going on at the library located at 121 West First North Street.

The American Red Cross urges Mesquite, Bunkerville, Scenic, Beaver Dam and Desert Springs residents to donate blood in the month of August to help prevent a shortage.

According to the American Red Cross, “Blood donations often decline in August as final summer vacations are planned and back-to-school activities ramp up. On average, during the summer months, about two fewer donors give blood at each Red Cross blood drive than what is needed.”
Donations are needed and you can help ensure blood is available for patients. The ARC says they are in need of donors with types AB, O negative, B negative and A negative blood; folks with these blood types are especially encouraged to donate.

The ARC states, “Plasma from type AB donors can be transfused to patients of any blood type, as can type O negative blood. Type B negative and A negative blood can be transfused to Rh-positive or negative patients. These are the most in demand blood types and are in constant need.”

Give the gift of life and donate on Friday, August 14 from 1-6 p.m. at the Bunkerville Library.

Newly posted are the worship times for Living Waters Fellowship.  The times of services will only be posted on this week’s community calendar.  They will be moved to the monthly religious calendar where listings for any services can be found anytime on our web site.

Whatever activity they you are looking for, you can always find what’s happening right here in the community calendar every Thursday in print or everyday online at

If you want them to find you, you know what to do; send all your events to, please put “community calendar” in the subject line or your submission may get lost in cyber space. Have a fun and eventful week.
