The agenda for Tuesday’s City Council meeting has several items of interest, but none more desirable than the presentation to be made by Debbie Dallow from Southwest Gas in regards to Senate Bill 151, which passed during the recent legislative session.

Mesquite residents and businesses have been screaming for natural gas as an option in Mesquite for years. The agenda item, petitioned by Aaron Baker, the City Liasion Officer, credits the recent progress to Congressman Cresent Hardy and the Hardy Consultant Group for making this opportunity closer to reality. The presentation will be informative to the Mayor, Council and community about what SB151 means for Mesquite and what needs to happen for the area to begin receiving natural gas service.

Other items on Tuesday’s agenda include a presentation by Warren Hardy on the 78th Regular Nevada Legislative Session as well as matters related to the new City of Mesquite Cemetery and the airport master plan. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27 at City Hall, 10 E Mesquite Blvd.
