TUESDAY:  MANTHEY TAKES ADVANTAGE OF YEH’S ERRORS

Andrew Yeh, after a great week last week, triple bogeyed three par fours at Coral Canyon which resulted in a score of 87.  Ron Manthey, to no one’s surprise, had no scores of six and shot 40-39-79 to edge Dave Jordan’s pair of 40’s for medalist at CCC.  John Meyer, moving back to the middle tees, to stay in the skin’s game, recorded a great round consisting of four birdies, two on each side, for a 40-41-81 and first place low net with 68.  John, maybe your game is good enough to move back.  He was also rewarded with 320 first place pts for the “fed-ex” summer net tournament.

THURSDAY:  A THING OF BEAUTY

Once again the infamous hurricane winds never developed and the blue skies made the surrounding landscape as beautiful as ever. First time player at Sky Mt, Hal Rundle, shot a pretty decent round of golf recording two nine hole rounds of 40-40-80, from the back tees, to earn medalist honors.  Next time Hal, you need to pay more attention to the gorgeous surroundings and less time on your game.  Avery depleted group went to Sky Mountain due to the Mesquite Card tournament at Coyote Springs.  Second best round was turned in by Dick Swayne with a 43-39-82.  His 39 was the best nine hole score.  The shot of the day was turned in by Bubba Petrick on the par four 14th.  He chipped his third shot on the green.  From there his putt slid by the hole some six feet where he putted his fifth to within 10 inches and proceeded to jump in the air, take his 16 inch golf shoe and kick the little white ball dead into the cup for his double bogey.  It was a thing of beauty!

The next scheduled play is Tuesday, June 16 at the CasaBlanca at 7:00 and Thursday June 18th at the Canyons at 7:00.  Always check your sig up sheets for any corrected times or places.  Anyone interested in joining the MMGA can call 702-346-6363.  Also check out our website at www.mesquitemensgolf.com.
