A grief recovery support group called “GriefShare” is beginning again. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Mesquite United Methodist Church at 420 Pioneer Blvd. from 2-4 p.m. on Sundays. Sessions will start on March 15th and last thirteen (13) weeks, ending Sunday, June 7, 2015. There is a nominal fee of $15 for materials, which may be waived in hardship instances. Please call the church office at 702-346-4663 to register.
GriefShare is a special, non-denominational seminar and support group that features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics for people grieving the loss of a loved one. This group is sponsored by the United Methodist Women and the Mission Ministry of the United Methodist Church and is open to all people in the community. The group facilitators are trained Stephen Ministers who understand what you are experiencing and provide a confidential, supportive environment in which you will find comfort and encouragement while you work through this difficult time in your life.
Each GriefShare session includes a video seminar and group discussion. A GriefShare workbook assists you with note-taking, journaling and grief study. The videos were produced by top experts in grief recovery and include real-life stories of people who have experienced losses like yours.
During the small group discussions, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with others who have also experienced a recent loss, to learn about their experiences and share your own. Sharing your grief walk with others gives you someone to talk to who is experiencing the same pain.
Please join us as we journey from mourning to joy.
