One sure fire way to put a spark in your giddy-up this weekend is to join the Cowboy Poets as they sit around the campfire and share their tales of the trails at the Mesquite Western Roundup sponsored by the Mesquite Arts Council.
There’s no doubt that Hap Stuart, Jim Dunham, Ken Marshall, Lee Kimberlin, Marc Bradshaw, Marleen Bussma, Mike Prince and Mesquite’s own Russ Westwood will keep you in stitches as they share poems and stories of their life as a cowboy or cowgirl.
Let ‘em tickle your fancy this weekend at the Mesquite Community Theatre, 150 North Yucca Street. Tickets are $10 and are available at Danielle’s Chocolates, Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery, Mesquite Chamber of Commerce, Have Boutique Will Travel and the Mesquite Community Theatre Box Office.
Monday, at the Mesquite Senior Center, the Reilly Group will be conducting a public listening session. The session is meant to give interested parties an opportunity to provide constructive feedback about the services provided by the Mesquite Athletic and Leisure Services Department (MALSD).
Whether you enjoy the services of the MALSD in youth sports programs or by utilizing the recreation center and swimming pool the impact of the MALSD is everywhere in the Mesquite community. City Manager Andy Barton would love to hear what they are doing right as well as how they can improve their services to the community members.
