Fly Willie, according to the Virgin Valley Theatre Group actors is too funny to miss being a part of.

According to the story line, Willie Gambini is a loser who can’t do anything right.  Willie breaks out of his mobster family to make it on his own as an actor.  Willie is not a good actor, as a matter of fact Willie isn’t a good anything. When Willie tries his hand at being a farmer and then opening an airport on his dying farm the actions and antics will keep you in stitches.

Auditions were held on February 5th and 7th as part of an ongoing educational workshop for the Virgin Valley Theatre Group in conjunction with 2Nielsens Productions.

Fly Willie is an original piece written and directed by Dan Nielsen, two time Award-Winning director and choreographer in both Branson, MO and Pigeon Forge, TN for the long running show Country from Thursday night.

Auditioning for Fly Willie gave the actors/actresses of the VVTG just a hint of how much fun they have to look forward to with rehearsals and then the actual show which is scheduled to be on the stage of the Mesquite Community Theatre on May 1st and 2nd at 7 p.m.

Among the nearly constant laughter with the auditioning cast members came a few grunts and squeals with shouts of “You’re insane!” and even harder laughter.

Already cast for the show are VVTG members Dale McAllister, Teri Nehrenz, Patty Amore, Paul Benedict, Chad Calmelat, Robert Downing, Jack Ward, Miriam Samuels, Jennifer Conklin, Emily Conklin, Christopher Finnegan, Tyler Leggett and Vegas entertainers Gino Venezia, Jeremy Nielsen and Marco Varela.

The VVTG and 2Nielsens Productions are still looking for a few good actors to join the rest of those who have been cast for the May productions.

Cast members that are still needed are  a woman in her 40’s-50’s, stylish with a flair for drama, young woman teenage to 30, energetic, upbeat and cheerful and a Man, any age, preferably larger size but willing to look at other options for the character.  Others may audition as there are many opportunities for extras who haven’t got lines but have the opportunity to form a fun and funny character which are important to many of the scenes.

If you want to be a part of something “Too Funny Too Miss” then come with the VVTG, 2Nielsens Productions and the rest of the cast members as they Fly Willie.

A second audition will be held on February 14 at 2:30 p.m. in the Green Room located just behind the Mesquite Community Theatre at 150 North Yucca Street.

Give The VVTG and 2Nielsens Productions an hour and a half on your Valentine’s Day and they’ll give you something special to put your heart into.
