Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Dec. 7 – Dec. 13, 2014.

Dec. 7:

Petit Larceny: An Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd discount store for a report of shop lifting. Store management declined to prosecute, reporting only as a matter of record.

Theft: Officer responded to a Palos Verdes Circle residence on a theft of a lawn ornament and a report was taken.

Unknown Problem: Officers responded to N Sandhill Blvd for a cell phone 911 hang up, but were unable to locate the caller in the location of the call.

Reckless Driver: Officer responded to a report of a reckless driver on  I15 SB. Vehicle was followed for two miles and no traffic violations were observed. Complainant unwilling to sign complaint.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An Officer responded to a Whitey Lee Ln residence, reference some property found in the back yard of the residence. The property was found to have been involved in an incident earlier in the day. Property was returned to owner.

Reckless Driver: An Officer responded to a report of a reckless driver on Riverside Rd. Vehicle was found to be parked and the driver was checked and was found not to be impaired.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd residence reference a reported domestic battery. An adult male and adult female were involved in a physical altercation. The male was arrested and an officer’s report was completed.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Police responded to vandalism at a W Mesquite Blvd business. A report was taken.

Dec. 8:

Domestic Trouble: Police responded to a domestic dispute at a Haley Way residence. One adult male was arrested for battery domestic violence and property damage and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Alarm: An officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business in reference to an alarm, it was determined to be an error.

Phone Harassment: An officer was dispatched to the police department, in reference to a harassment call.

Lost Property: Officer was flagged down at W Pioneer Blvd & N Grapevine Rd by citizen who lost a set of keys and a description was gathered.

Theft: Officer responded to the police station on a report of theft. Complainant requested to take a witness statement with her, and will return when complete.

Keep The Peace: An Officer responded to a Mesquite Springs Dr apartment complex for a keep the peace. A property agent was requesting to enter property without notice. Notice was given and agent will return.

Welfare Check: Officers responded to a N Yucca St residence to conduct a welfare check on a male, due to concerns from family members. The male was found to be in good condition.

Suspicious/Person:

Police Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino, for a report of an intoxicated female stating she had been brought to Mesquite against her will. The complaint was unfounded and the female was helped in making phone calls to have someone pick her up.

TPO Violation: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business and met with one adult male with questions regarding a court order.

Fire: An Officer responded to the area of Diary Lane for a report of a residential fire. Officer assisted Fire & Rescue in vacating the building for safety purposes.

Reckless Driver: An Officer responded to I-15 at the 120 South off ramp and took a report of a road rage incident that happened on I-15 in the gorge in Arizona. The other involved party was not located.

Keep The Peace: Officer responded to a Rivers Bend Dr residence for a keep the peace while personal items were retrieved.

Odor Investigation: Officers responded to a city building on Mayan Circle in reference to possible smoke.  No damage or smoke was located.

Assault/Battery: An Officer responded to Hermosa Way for a report fight involving two female juveniles. A report was taken and investigation begun.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Police responded to a traffic accident at Turtleback Rd & W Pioneer Blvd. Both female adult drivers were transported to Mesa View Hospital with minor injuries. A report was taken.

Agency Assistance: Officers responded to an Overland Trail residence to assist Mesquite Paramedics with an aggressive subject. The male subject was transported by paramedics.

Wanted Person: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a trespass report. Security trespassed an adult male who refused to leave the property. The male was arrested for trespassing, breach of peace, and for an active out of state felony warrant.

Lost Property: Police took a report for a lost cell phone on W Pioneer Blvd.

Dec. 9:

Suicidal Person: Officers were dispatched to a Mesa Blvd address in reference a suicidal subject.

Found Property: An Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business for a report of found property. The property was placed in the Mesquite Police vault, for safe keeping.

VIN Number Inspection: Officer responded to the Mesquite Justice Facility and completed a VIN inspection on a Truck, for a citizen.

Litter/Pollution/Public Health: An Officer responded to a N Arrowhead Ln business for a report of trash (boxes) left on the property. The person who placed the boxes was located and the boxes were removed.

Found Property: Officer responded to a report of found property on Reber Dr. The owner was identified and property returned.

Sex Offender Verification: An officer was dispatched to the police department for an FDR verification.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd gas station in reference to a problem with the ATM machine.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer responded to a private property accident at a W Mesquite Blvd business. Information was received and a report was taken.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer was dispatched to a Saddle Horn Ridge intersection in reference to a minor traffic accident without injuries.

Welfare Check: An Officer responded to a Thompson Dr residence and conducted a welfare check of a sick person for an out of State family member.

Deliver Message: Officer responded to a Highland Hills Dr residence and delivered a message from an outside agency.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An Officer responded to Hawk St for a report of a vehicle accident, involving a moving vehicle backing into a parked vehicle. An accident report was completed.

Parking Problem: Officer responded to a report of a parking problem on Canyon Crest Blvd and the issue was resolved.

Theft: An officer responded to a N Arrowhead Ln residence for a report of some missing power tools.

Suspicious/Person: An officer was dispatched to a Riverside Rd address, in reference to a welfare check.

Reckless Driver: Officers responded to S Grapevine Rd for a reported traffic offense and both vehicles involved had left the scene.

Dec. 10:

Found Property: Officer booked a found camera on Hermosa Way into the vault as found property.

Trespassing: Officer arrested an adult male on W Mesquite Blvd for a trespass violation.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a reported property damage accident on Falcon Ridge Pkwy with no injuries. Report was taken and one citation was issued.

Theft from Vehicle: An officer took a report in reference to an item stolen from a motor vehicle on Honeysuckle Ct. A report was taken.

Theft: Officers responded to a retail store on W Pioneer Blvd in reference to a theft. The suspect was gone on arrival.

Dec. 11:

Lost Property: R/p requested a report number to provide for her doctor. R/p advised she misplaced her prescription medication.

Fraud: Officer responded to a report of fraud on Falls Cir. Report taken for internet fraud and investigation is ongoing.

Domestic Trouble: Detectives with the Mesquite Police Department witnessed an adult male commit a battery on an adult female on Mesa Blvd. The male was arrested for domestic battery.

Driving Under the Influence: An officer located a suspicious vehicle in a W Hafen Ln parking lot.  After an investigation, one male was arrested for DUI and various charges.  One juvenile female was cited for curfew and released to a parent.

Dec. 12:

Lost Property: Officers were informed of a lost or stolen lap top computer from a student on W Hafen Ln. The reporting party stated this occurred around November 11, 2014.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to a person laying in the roadway on Hughes Ave. Officer arrived on scene and discovered the subject was intoxicated and inhaling an unknown chemical from a rag. The subject was arrested and booked into jail.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd apartment complex reference an intoxicated male.  The male damaged property and was arrested.

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on W Pioneer Blvd on a vehicle for a traffic violation and located drugs and other violations. Two subjects were cited and released.

Dec. 13:

Phone Harassment: Officer responded to the police station and answered questions regarding a civil matter.

Found Property: Officer responded to a Falcon Glenn Dr residence on a report of found property. Property was booked for safe keeping and a written statement was gathered.

Lost Property: An officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd residence and took a Police report, concerning a missing wallet. Subject was given police report information to pass on to his bank.

Keep The Peace: Officers kept the peace during a child exchange.

Missing Person: Officers responded to a Whitey Lee Ln residence reference a missing disabled adult. The adult female was later located and reunited with her family.
