Friends of Gold Butte is very pleased to have Amy Gilreath presenting a talk on The Prehistory of Gold Butte on Wednesday, October 22. Amy Gilreath is a Principal at Far Western Anthropology with 30+ years’ experience with the Great Basin’s and eastern California’s prehistoric record. She co-directed the multi-year, multi-faceted Gold Butte Cultural Resources Study that surveyed about 10% of Gold Butte’s nearly 350,000 acres and identified and recorded nearly 350 prehistoric and 200 historic-era sites. Her presentation will highlight their findings concerning Gold Butte’s prehistory and land-use pattern changes that have occurred over millennia. The theater opens at 6:30 and the presentation will begin at 7:00.

(Note that the date is a week later than the usual 3rd Wed. date, due to a scheduling conflict with the theater.) Next month’s presentation will be on November 19 and the subject will be Gila Monsters!
