The Monday outing at Falcon Ridge was truly a hot affair at 111 degrees on the course at tee time, although this didn’t stop Andrew Yeh from shooting a smooth 33 to take low gross and net. Hitting a 9-iron for his second shot on the par 5 first hole helped to start him off with an eagle. Another birdie and bogie lead to his 2-under for nine holes. That is top-caliber golf from any tee box, from the blacks that he plays from.

The two-man team format (aggregate score) wasn’t close for Monday as Capt. Ron Nickle was playing like his several hundred mile bike tour didn’t effect him at all and his partner, Gary Slater, waltzed home winners by three strokes over the 2nd place team of John Johnson and Bill Losh. Johnson couldn’t believe they didn’t win the whole Maryann with Bill on his team. The members were thinking it was due to Bill lowering his handicap so far and having to drop back to a longer tee box. Knowing him it won’t be long till he is back in the winners circle.

For skins on Monday, 3 went to Andrew, who earned a double skin on hole #1 for his eagle, and one skin went to Glenn Hood, Gary Slater and Capt. Ron. A high number of skins (6), after only one last week.

The par three closest to the pins were won by Larry Mierisch on hole #2 and Jim Buttler on holes #5 and #8.

The clubhouse crew saved the players with a couple of cold ones and everyone managed to survive.
