Anyone who wants to provide comments or share their thoughts and vision as part of an animated and passionate conversation about the state’s arts and cultural needs can do so with a new Nevada Arts Council online survey through July 15.

Information gathered from the surveys and arts town meetings will be used to update the organization’s “Values & Vision” strategic plan that guides the work of the state agency. The plan provides the foundation for the fall 2014 Arts Council Partnership Grant application to the National Endowment for the Arts. Hundreds of Nevadans have already participated at 13 town meetings held statewide in April and May.

“We encourage you to be candid, constructive and above all, creative,” said Susan Boskoff, executive director of the Arts Council. “Public input is critical as we develop programs and services to support the work of Nevada’s artists and arts organizations, as well as those involved in community livability, education and cultural tourism.”

The short survey is tailored for the user, so parents, artists, educators, organizations and more have a chance to answer questions relevant to their experiences and priorities. It is provided in both English and Spanish at nac.nevadaculture.org, along with the Arts Council’s current plan. Hard copies are also available by calling (775) 687-6680.
