If you were to ask Terry Gardner he would tell you that it has been a long haul but today he has been rewarded for his long wait.  Even when he scored a triple bogey on his second hole of the morning he pulled it all together and birdied the next hole and finished the front side with one more bogey for a very solid two over par 37.  He birdied the 16th hole on his way to a very sound back nine of 40 for a total round of 77 to win medalist on Tuesday at Falcon Ridge.  Pat “Smitty” was also rewarded after many weeks of not so good golf with a consistent 39-43-82 to net out with a net 64 for first place low net honors.  Second went to Russ Clark with his second straight good round today firing a 44-48-92 for net 66.  Third net went to Tom Durenberger (82) and net 68 and 4th place was earned by Ed Hoepfner (82) and net 69.

The shot of the day as we know it was done by Dave Jordan on the par three eighth hole.  His iron tee shot went over the back of the green and rolled down the hill some 25 yards from the green.  The pin was only 10 feet from the edge.  Jordan could not see the flag but hit his 58 degree wedge up high landing on the top of the mound bouncing a couple feet down hill on to the green and rolling four feet past the hole where he putted it in for a fantastic par!

Andrew Yeh was back with the MMGA after a week off touring the golf circuit in Primm and swaggered around the Palms golf course with a three birdie three under par 33.  He coasted on the back nine only shooting an easy three over par 39 for a total of 72. That is a lot of threes!.  His round was good enough to beat Ron Manthey by two shots though Manthey also had three birdies shooting a solid two rounds of 37-37-74.   Good rounds gentlemen!  Manthey’s second place low gross was solid enough for first place low net as he tied two other players, Pat Smittey (85) and Dan Trower (95) all netting out at 69.  However Manthey parred the first handicap hole to take first.  Huetter bogeyed 18 for second and Trower’s double bogey on the same hole landed in third.
