Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Joey Lynn Caruso, 46, of St. George Utah,Monday (5/12) afternoon for aggravated DUI – interlock, felony, along with DUI and open liquor container in vehicle, misdemeanors.  As deputies were exiting the Interstate 15 at the Black Rock exit, they observed a vehicle parked on the side of the road.  Deputies further observed the driver’s door was open and a male subject sitting in the driver’s seat.  Approximately 2:26 p.m., deputies contacted the male subject identified as Caruso.  Caruso advised that he has been drinking.  Caruso showed the deputy that his vehicle is equipped with an ignition interlock system.  Caruso showed the deputy a bottle of vodka which he had been drinking.  Deputies had Caruso exit the vehicle.  Deputies observed Caruso was stumbling and had difficulty maintaining his balance.  A records check showed Caruso driver’s license indicated him to have an interlock device in the vehicle.  Caruso was taken into custody without incident.  A blood sample was taken from Caruso to be submitted to the DPS Crime Lab for further analysis.  He was transported and booked into the Mesquite Jail.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.
