donkey1Gus and Eli have returned to Scenic. They were the first two donkeys adopted from the Satellite Adoption Center of Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue located in Scenic AZ.

They were adopted in March of 2011. The boys went to a wonderful home near Bagdad, AZ. and were trained as pack donkeys. They were fitted to harness and carried supplies for their owners on day hiking trips.

The people that adopted them have accepted a position in Montana, and could not take their beloved Gus and Eli with them. In accordance to PVDR policy the donkeys were returned to the rescue.

They are very social animals and will be used as promotional donkeys when the satellite does off-site events. Of course, if someone happens to come along that want to adopt these wonderful animals then we will do whatever is best for the boys.

Gus and Eli join the other donkeys at the adoption center: Bo, Kelly, Squiggy, Abbey, Ferris, Cookie, Sally, Sue, Bonnie, Clyde, Robbie. Also at the center are Koa and Moki two of the donkeys that were brought from Hawaii and Peppy and Jenny who were recently rescued near Palm Springs, CA.

Gus was originally named Elvis because of his long spikey mane and bangs.

Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue is a non-profit charitable organization and is dependent on donations for its support. PVDR takes no money from any government agency. By removing the burden of donkey rescue from federal, state, county or local government, our services have saved hundreds of thousands of tax-payer dollars. Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity. All donations are tax deductible.
