YEH AND MANNON
The “law firm” of Yeh and Mannon walked away winners on Tuesday. Andrew Yeh shot a normal four birdie round with one double bogey and recorded a nice two over par 73 on the first day of many more warm summer days ahead.  Dave Jordan was two shots back of Yeh at the turn with a two over par 37 but fell victim to poor putting on the back side and shot 80.  Don Mannon after a lot of prodding finally move to the gold tees and is there for good.  On Tuesday at Falcon Ridge he shot 44-48-92 and was awarded first place low net with his net 68.  Lew Roney shot a consistent pair of 43’s and a second place low net of 69.  Third went to Joel Reilly (94), with two birdies and a net 70.  Jordan’s second place low gross was a net 72 good enough for 4th place when he beat out Delbert Moore (92) and a net 72 but a double bogey dropped him from contention.  Gary Denhalter (90) and also a net 72 lost to Jordan on the sixth hole when he bogeyed to Jordan’s par four.  The shot of the day was turned in by Andrew Yeh on the par three 14th hole.  His drive was just inside the OB stakes but on the grassless hard dirt spme 50yds from the pin.  He took out his 58 degree magic club and chipped it just short of the green where it hopped up and hit half way to the cup and rolled dead straight into the cup for his fourth birdie of the day.  It looked a lot like Matt Jones’s chip shot to win the Houston Shell tournament on Sunday.

YEH  SHOOTS  SECOND STRAIGHT 73 TO WIN BY FIVE SHOTS

Andrew Yeh shot his second straight 73 on Thursday to win his fifth straight low gross honors.  But the story line for the MMGA players was that 13 of 22 players shot net scores of par 71 or less.  Joel Reilly shot his best game in quite some time and has to sweat out his results for low net until he reads this article.  Reilly couldn’t remember the last time he broke 40 on nine holes but today he shot a great four over par 39 and followed that up with a more normal 47 on the back nine for 86 gross and a net 63.  Normally one could bet that would win low net not for the fact that Jim Guttridge was able to keep his driver under control and he shot an even better front nine of 38 and a solid 40 on the back for 78 to tie Reilly at 63.  Both men parred the first handicap hole but when Reilly double bogeyed #10 he had to settle for second low net.  Good solid rounds guys!  One shot back of the top two was a good round of 82 shot by Dan Hoffman and a net 64 good for third place.  One shot back of Hoffman’s 64 was a net 65 turned in by new member Aaron Kennard with a gross 80.  Five other players netted in the 60’s. They were Delbert Moore (86) net 67, Lew Roney (83) net 67, Jim Barfknecht (84) and net 68 and Tom Durenberger (82) and net 69.
