The Occupational Health and Safety Association (OSHA) on Monday, July 22, recognized the Do it Best Corp. Retail Service Center (RSC) in Mesquite for earning the highest rating in OSHA’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP).

Monday’s presentation was the culmination of a yearlong process as OSHA examined all aspects of worker health and safety at the Mesquite RSC.

“Earning full SHARP status is no small feat, and it’s due in large part to the outstanding efforts of our team here in Mesquite,” said Steve Rose, safety director for Do it Best Corp.

The SHARP process began with an initial OSHA visit, which included a mock facility safety audit and wall-to-wall inspection that spanned two full days. Several suggested improvements, enhancements and upgrades were recommended by OSHA as a result of that inspection, all of which the Mesquite team set about implementing immediately.

Companies meeting the qualifications and successfully completing the SHARP consultation process receive a two-year exemption from Nevada OSHA general schedule enforcement inspections.
