There is a calendar full of activities/events for you to enjoy around Mesquite this week; read carefully so you don’t miss a thing.
The activities this week begin with Roos N More’s visit to the Virgin Valley Heritage Museum on Friday between 4 and 8 p.m.
The event is free to the public but visitors are being asked to please donate gently used baby items, play equipment or preemie diapers for the care of the baby animals.
Roos N More believes in conservation through education in hopes that the personal encounters with the animals will inspire people to help save their wild relatives.
On Saturday you’ll want to see the very talented and award winning Releve’ dancers at the Mesquite Community Theatre, 150 N. Yucca St. Showtime is 7p.m.
There will be performances in jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical, pre-dance, tap and adult dance. Special guests will be the Mesquite Toes. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 10 and under.
Auditions for Mesquite Kids on Stage Disney Spectacular will be held Monday, June 9th at 10:15 at Mesquite Community Theatre.
Prepare a short solo, and bring something to keep yourself occupied while the directors listen to everyone sing. School-age students only, please.
Students must be available for all rehearsals; younger students will have a shorter rehearsal schedule. There will be a $25 registration fee due by June 12th.
Missoula Children’s Theatre will audition for the play “Blackbeard the Pirate” on June 16th; only Mesquite Kids On Stage students, that are participating in Disney Spectacular, will be able to audition for and perform in Missoula Children’s Theatre.
Don’t forget to join the fun in the Fly Willie workshops with the Virgin Valley Theatre Group and Dan Nielsen. Nielsen is a 40 year, award-winning, veteran entertainer who is now working with the VVTG on his original project.
Learn choreography, characterization, physical comedy and showmanship from a seasoned professional all for free when you join the VVTG and Fly Willie at 150 N. Yucca St., #15 on Monday at 6 p.m.
Tuesday is your chance to hit the polls early. There will be two voting locations in Mesquite; both will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mesquite citizens have their chance to cast their votes at either 150 N. Yucca St. Deuce Room #2 or Sun City Recreation Center, 1300 Flat Top Mesa Blvd.
Perhaps after the vote you can stop by the city council meeting and see our new Council Woman Delaney at work. Delaney is one of the co-founders of Mesquite Local News.
