At a recent Chamber Mixer, President-elect Noel Smith announced that Karen Fielding would be joining the Chamber as a part-time, Interim Director. Fielding has been a resident of Mesquite for many years, active in the business community, and a former President of the Mesquite Chamber. “Karen has been an active Chamber member for years, and brings a wealth of experience and a familiarity with the membership that will enable her to hit the ground running and help move the Chamber forward in a very positive manner”, said Smith.

In her role, Fielding will focus on office operations, Chamber events, committee coordination and member relations. “Karen’s willingness to share her experience and serve as a mentor for Kristina Melle, Chamber Office Administrative Specialist, will be invaluable. We appreciate her willingness to step up and support the Chamber”, said Ken Cook, Chamber Chairman.

The Chamber also announced recently that retired executive, Jeff Powell, has volunteered to head the Marketing Committee, focusing on developing the Chamber’s ‘value proposition’ and identifying cross-marketing opportunities for member businesses. Kyle Aughney has volunteered to be the Chamber’s new website administrator.

“We continue to strengthen our team and are better prepared to take the Chamber to the next level,” said Cook.
