Homecoming parade scheduled for Oct. 9

Gather the entire family and come join the fun and entertainment on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 5 p.m. and be a part of the excitement of the Annual Virgin Valley Homecoming Parade.

Get your spot early along the parade route as traffic will be diverted off of the boulevard from Arrowhead to Willow at 4:45 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and some refreshments to stay hydrated and enjoy the parade. The parade will head east on Mesquite Boulevard on the south side lanes (City Hall side) of the street. Remember; please attend the pep rally at VVHS Gymnasium immediately after the parade.

Just a reminder, please stays off the medians.

Bingo Bash hosted by Mesquite Showgirls

The Mesquite Showgirls will host their annual Bingo Bash fund-raiser on Oct. 18, at the Holiday Inn Resort,  333 N. Sandhill Road.

Check-in time is at 10 a.m. with games starting at 11 a.m. There will also be raffles and a cash bar.

Tickets are $25 apiece or a table of 10 available for $200. Come early to get a ticket for a mimosa or Bloody Mary and wander around and look at the raffle items.

Fall softball league signups under way

Signups are under way for the Tuesday men’s and Wednesday co-ed leagues sponsored by the Mesquite Athletics and Leisure Services Department.

Cost is $450 per team with payment required at sign-up. League play begins Oct. 14 and 15 with signups due by Oct. 2.

There will be two games per night and an end of season tournament. The league will be up to seven weeks long.
