(MAY 8, 2025) – The Rotary Club of Mesquite held its long-awaited Chamber Ribbon Cutting and Open House (Wednesday) at their brand-new location. The atmosphere was full of excitement as Rotarians and guests gathered to celebrate the unveiling of their dedicated space—beautifully arranged and full of promise for the club’s future.

For years, the Rotary Club has hosted its popular annual “Book Sale” at the library courtyard, raising funds for Mesquite Reads through the sale of gently used books. About two years ago, the event moved to the College of Southern Nevada, where the Sunrise Rotary Club began offering book sales monthly—welcoming community members to donate books or purchase them for just $1.00.

Now, thanks to the dedication of club members and the leadership of President Deb Parsley—who has been a Rotarian for 11 years—the club has a permanent home. This new location allows the club to open its doors twice a week for book sales, with plans to add Saturday hours soon. The added accessibility means even more support for literacy initiatives in our community.

“This space allows us not only to expand our fundraising efforts,” said Parsley, “but also to host meetings and events as needed. It’s a big step forward for our club.”

True to the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self,” the club continues to be a pillar of support for Mesquite and surrounding areas.

Weekly meetings are held at 5:30 PM every Wednesday, and the community is always welcome to stop by, learn more, and get involved.
