The Mesquite Exchange Club will once again hold a “Remember 9/11” commemoration at the Mesquite City Hall rotunda at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014.  Activities will include the laying of a wreath by police and firefighters to honor the first responders who were lost when the two World Trade Center towers collapsed.

The event provides an opportunity for the community to honor those who fell and to thank our own police and firefighters for their service on our behalf.  Besides the laying of the wreath, activities are slated to include guest speaker Mayor Al Litman, songs by the Virgin Valley High School Show Choir, a bagpipe salute by Dennis Hangey.  The flag will be lowered at sunset followed by Taps.

The community is invited to meet their local emergency responders including search and rescue service dogs and handlers.
