The Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldog basketball team showed no ill effects after their loss at Moapa Valley Friday night by running over the Miners from Sunrise Mountain 51-34 in the Miners gym on Tuesday, Feb. 2. The Dawgs jumped out to a 15-2 lead after one period of play. The Dawgs increased their lead at the break to 31-13. The score was 45-19 after three periods. Bulldog reserves finished up the game for a 51-34 Dawg win.
Spencer Green led the Dawgs with 13 points followed by Brianna Todd with 11 points and Bernice Fiso with nine points. The Lady Dawgs host undefeated and league leader Chaparral on Thursday Feb. 4. They then host Desert Pines on Feb. 8 before finishing the season against Boulder City on Feb 11. The Dawgs 8-3 are one game back of second place Desert Pines and one up on Moapa Valley.
