Halloween is a time to dress in your favorite costume and enjoy receiving candy.
On Oct. 31, the Mesquite Police Department is hosting the 18th annual Trunk or Treat event.
This year’s theme is Haunted Forest and there will be many events for children to enjoy this upcoming holiday.
The event takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. inside the CasaBlanca Resort parking garage.
It is an opportunity to ensure that everyone can enjoy Halloween, while staying safe.
The Mesquite Police Department is also allowing local businesses and residents to participate in this year’s Trunk or Treat event.
There is no entry fee to participate. However, those businesses need to hand out nearly 4,000 pieces of candy to those in attendance. If businesses do advertise, the Mesquite Police Department asks for it to be family-friendly and does not stop the flow of traffic.
If locals have not submitted their company to participate, they can email Lieutenant Chris Rowley at crowley@mesquitenv.gov or by phone at (702) 346-5262 ext. 6120. The deadline to submit your participation for Lt. Rowley is Oct. 18.
If residents want to volunteer their time, they can donate candy that will be passed out at the police department trunks.
For those that would like to drop their candy donation, they can deliver it to the Mesquite Department headquarters at 695 Mayan Circle between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
