First thing in the morning on Sept. 12, local golfers invaded The Palms Golf Course.
Retirement Healthcare Advisors got together with Select Health Care, Intermountain Health and local sponsors from Kokopelli Landscaping, Virgin Valley Dental, Precision Eye Care and Back 9 Golf to reserve the entire course.
Together they made arrangement for 140 local golfers to enter “The Healthcare Invitational Golf Tournament.” Each hole a had foursome starting from one of the 18 holes.
Once the teams were scattered across the course, there was a “shotgun” start. At the “turn,” there was a huge burger lunch hot and waiting. A donation to the Mesquite Salvation Army was the entry fee and raffles or “Mulligans” were offered to support the Mesquite Cristian Academy.
The weather was the coolest day since summer started, the course was in great shape, and the competition was fierce, and we all had a ball.
Our local Mesquite golfer raised nearly $300 for local charities. Three teams tied for low score and the team that performed the best on the course’s most difficult hole were the final winners.
