When Mike Saldivar begins a bowling season, fellow bowlers tune in knowing when he steps on the approach his powerful game is likely to delivery his share of “wow” bowling feats.
Mike Saldivar
And his latest scoring explosion in mowing down pins happened just before the clock ran out on the2022-23 season in Kings & Queens summer league action when he put an exclamation point on a standout season with a perfect 300 game.
And making it extra special is the fact that when coupled with a 300 tossed during winter league play in February, Saldivar now joins Doug Love, Rob Hartman, Dave Maves, and Darwin Wimer (3x) as the only bowlers who’ve ever bowled two 300 games at the Virgin River Bowling Center which opened for bowling in 1998.
So, when considering his many explosive scoring feats, along with the fact that in the last two years alone he’s also peppered the lanes with games of 298, 296, 296 and 290, more perfecto’s are definitely in play in the 2023-24 season and beyond.
Saldivar’s resume also sports the 2nd best series ever bowled at the VRBC, a 795 when a recalcitrant 8 pin leave on a crushing pocket shot put the kibosh on what would have been an 800 series. And on a related note, Scott Mattingly’s record-setting 809 series in earlier summer league action is the highest-ever in Mesquite bowling.
