Mesquite Senior Games
Mesquite Senior Games is pleased to announce the addition of five new members to our board of directors.
Jim Armstrong, Vicky Fikani, Krista Kilpartick, Kara Meyers and Marge Mongolo have recently been added as members.
We are very excited to welcome all these new members as they each bring a unique skill set to our board.
Jim brings many years of successfully running his own business with his wife as well as being involved with Inventory Control and Weber County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse. Where he planned and oversaw a pony express ride from St. Joe MO to Salt Lake City, over 1,200 miles in seven days.
He has also been very involved in Boy Scouts of America, serving as a scout master, coach and a member of the Pine View District camping committee.
Vicky formerly worked for the IRS and recruited, trained and scheduled volunteers for the VITA program, which offered free services to help low-income families file taxes. She also served on a committee to raise scholarships for minority college students through a committee that planned and ran a fund raiser golf tournament.
She was also a member of AYSO, a youth soccer organization where she recruited teen youths to referee. Vickie will take over the bookkeeping responsibilities.
Krista has a degree in sports medicine and worked for the Denver Broncos sports medicine clinic. She moved to San Diego and continued her career in healthcare administration.
In addition to participating in sports throughout her life, she spent time volunteering at the YMCA. She has agreed to help Shaun in his duties as sports director.
Kara has recently retired with a bookkeeping background and is interested in doing volunteer work. She is going to be assisting Vicky with the treasurer/bookkeeping duties.
Marge is an army veteran who spent 34 years in civil service for the Department Of Defense and then the VA system in the medical field.
She was a coach for the San Diego VA for the Summer Sports clinic and another 2 years organizing the games locally in San Diego.
Additionally, she has spent time volunteering for special Olympics in addition to being a coach and an umpire for girls fastpitch softball. An avid sports fan she will bring a fresh perspective as an assistant sport director.
