NEVER BE LOST
Have you ever been truly lost? Remember the terror when you realized your situation?
Remember the joy when you were found or when you found your way back home?
What does the Bible say about being lost? God created Adam and Eve to live forever in complete happiness in the Garden of Eden. But in Genesis 3:4-11, everything changed. They sinned. They were lost.
After the flood and after the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt, God gave Moses the Law (the Ten Commandments). The is simply a mirror to show us our lost, sinful condition. Our need of a savior. From Genesis 3:15 forward throughout the Bible God promised to send the Messiah.
In Isaiah 45 verse 18 God reminded us that He is God and there is no other. He created the Heavens and the Earth. In verse 20 God reminds us that those who create idols of wood and stone which cannot save them, have no knowledge.
Verse 22 God says, “Look unto Me and be saved.” The whole Bible resounds with the knowledge of the one true God.
We can mock at the idols of the past: ancient Greece, Nineveh, and other societies, but what about the false gods America worships today? Power, money, prestige, fame, fortune, amusement.
People go to great lengths to acquire man’s knowledge by attending prestigious universities. They believe man has the answers to life’s questions. Colossians 2:8 says to Beware philosophy and vain deceit of the traditions of man which will rob you. Follow the principles of Christ instead.
Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, all asked the right questions. They sought the right answers. But they searched in darkness.
Isaiah 45:22 Look unto Me and you shall be saved for I am God and there is none else.
Trust in God and you will never be lost.
