There were 181 building permits issued by the city of Mesquite in July, with a total value of $6.8 million. This is an increase from the same month in 2021, when the city issued 149 permits, but with an increased value at $12 million.

On a year-to-date basis, the city has issued 1,557 permits valued at $73.7 million, above the year-to-date total from 2021, which was 1,149 permits valued at $68.5 million.

As usual, single-family residences made up the bulk of the July permits, with 26 issued at a value of $5.7 million. This is a decrease from July of 2021, when there were 45 permits issued with a value of $11 million.

Pulte Homes of Nevada issued 19 permits for single-family homes, followed by six from NRC and one by Meadowland Enterprises Inc.

The most expensive single-family home construction permit was valued at $447,789 by Meadowland Enterprises, while the least expensive were two from Pulte Homes, each valued at $152,412.

There were no permits issued for multi-family residences in July, compared to zero in July 2021.

There were two commercial buildings permitted in July valued at $333,000, compared to zero in July 2021. There was one permit for commercial modifications in July valued at $8,000 compared to one in July 2021 valued at $4,000.

The city issued four new business permits, compared to four in July 2021.

The city issued 21 permits for blocks walls in July, compared to 12 in July 2021. There were 12 permits for swimming pools/spas in July, while there were also 13 in July 2021.

There were no demolition permit filed in July, with one in July 2021. There was zero grading permit in July, compared to two in July 2020.
