Virgin Valley High School girl basketball team ended 2018 on a high note Friday evening rolling over SECTA (TECH) 48-29. Lady Dog Sidney Ludvigson came out firing with six straight points to give the Dawgs an early lead. The Bulldogs led 12-8 after one period, increasing their lead to 25-15 at the break utilizing excellent defense keeping the Roadrunners off guard. Ludvigson and Arile Ponce led the Dawgs with six points each. Ludivigson had four points in the third period helping the Dawgs to a 36-19 advantage. Bulldog point guard Nathalie Lagamayo hit two three’s in a row leading the Dawgs in the final period to the victory. Ludvigson finished with 12 points followed by Lagamayo with 11 points. The Lady Dogs begin play in 2019 at the Gator Winter Classic in Las Vegas on January 2 before opening league play at Moapa Valley on Jan.11. The Bulldogs ended 2018 with an overall 4-5 non-league record.
