The Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldog’s started strong Tuesday night November 27 to earn a 50-48 win over the Mojave High School Rattlers in Las Vegas. Leading the way for the Dawgs were veterans Nathalie Lagamayo, Areli Ponce with 14 points each and Alexis Boatright added 13. The Dawgs jumped out to an 18-8 first period lead and led by double digits 32-21 at the half. The Bulldogs went into a funk in the third period managing only six points as the Rattlers cut the lead to 38-34. The Bulldogs found their touch in the final period to hold off Mojave 50-48. The win reverses a 52-43 win by the Rattlers in last year’s State Tournament. The Lady Dawgs traveled to Enterprise (Utah) on Friday November 30 for a two day tournament against Utah opponents. The Bulldogs open home play Tuesday Dec. 4 against Del Sol High School before facing Kanab (Utah) in the BIT Thursday Dec. 6 at 6pm.

 

Lady Dogs lose to host Wolves 65-41

Virgin Valley fell behind early Friday night against host Enterprise (Utah) and could not recover losing, 65-41 in the first round of the Enterprise Invitational. The Bulldogs trailed 20-7 after one period and cut the lead to 31-21but could not stay with the 1A Wolves. The Dogs continued play Saturday morning against Sevier. (Utah)

Lady Dawgs fall to Sevier 72-37

The Dawgs were never in the game against Sevier (Utah) Saturday morning at the Enterprise tourney as they fell behind 27-12 in the first period and 47-21 at the half on the way to a 72-37 loss.
