Some calls that Mesquite Fire and Rescue receives are not always included in the report, as a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our Fire and Rescue workers do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 43 calls this week:

Nov. 4:

Breathing:  Rescue 11 and Rescue 32 responded to a person experiencing shortness of breath.

Rescue 11 transported to the local hospital with the Paramedic from Rescue 32 on board as well due to severe distress.

Abdominal pain:  Rescue 31 responded to report of an individual with abdominal pain. Patient signed out against medical advice.

Nov. 5:

Fire public education:  Engine 31 responded for a special detail to assist with residence smoke detectors.

MVA with injury:  Engine 31 and Rescue 31 responded to a two vehicle accident. No medical needed. Rescue 31 and Engine 31 cleared from scene.

Nov. 6:

Fire alarm:  Mesquite Fire units, engine 31, rescue 31, rescue 32, and rescue 11, responded to a local hospital for fire alarm with reports of sprinkler activation. Fire units performed acene evualuation and investigated cause, found issue with failed equipment resulting in incident. No injuries reported and damages are undetermined now. Facility is working to correct issues and will facility monitoring of the fire system will be maintained by staff.

Nov. 7:

Odor investigation:  Engine 31 and Rescue 31 dispatched to an odor investigation. No fire emergency found.

Breathing:  Rescue 11 and Rescue 31 dispatched to a breathing problem. One person transported to the Mesquite local hospital.

Nov. 8:

Hemorrhage:  Rescue 31 and Engine 31 responded to report of a hemorrhage problem. Rescue 31 transported one patient with Engine 31 personnel on board.

Citizen assist:  Engine 31 responded to a local residence for a public assist.

Nov.9:

Fire alarm:  Engine 31, Rescue 31, and Rescue 11 responded to report of a fire alarm. A smoke detector was found to be past its expiration date.

Nov. 10:

Breathing: Rescue 31 and Rescue 32 responded to report of an individual with breathing problems. Rescue 31 transported one patient to a local hospital.

Cardiac arrest:  Rescue 11 and Rescue 32 dispatched to a cardiac arrest. Patient was pronounced dead on scene. No resuscitation attempted.
