Can you believe it, it’s time for the annual Festival of Trees sponsored by the Mesquite Arts Council. This year it will take place at the Virgin River Event Tent. You can see all the beautiful displays, shop local vendors and enjoy some talented local entertainers. Hours vary but are listed below so check the calendar for the times.

Thanks to Maddie, On Friday Nov. 16 and Saturday Nov. 17 the Mesquite Animal Shelter will hold free pet adoptions. Adoptions fees will be covered by PetProjectNV. Don’t breed or buy, adopt a new friend and give an animal a second chance for a “furever” home. Shelter hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The Technical Review Meeting will be held in the Council Chambers on the 2nd floor of City Hall.

This meeting has been scheduled for Monday, Nov. 19 due to the Thanksgiving holiday this week.

Thanksgiving is a time for people to gather in unity, count blessings, and express gratitude for health and family.  In this spirit, The City of Mesquite extends an invitation to all the residents of Mesquite, Bunkerville and the surrounding areas to come share a complementary Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 21 from noon to 6 p.m.

Hosted by the Mesquite Senior Center, located at 102 W. Old Mill Rd., this meal is an opportunity to not only enjoy turkey, mashed potatoes and all of the trimmings, but to also enjoy friends, neighbors, family and other people in the community.  You never know, you might meet a new friend!

Don’t miss the final performances of Arsenic and Old Lace. The final shows are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Mesquite Community Theatre. Come see the show everyone has been raving about. Tickets are $16 for adults but if you say the words, “Bully BULLY!” while at the box office you will receive a $2 discount. See you at the theater!

Are you starting your holiday shopping yet? Check out the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery’s Christmas Boutique. The boutique will be open during gallery hours until the end of the year. All items are one of a kind and created by local artists. You can find some great deals and artwork for that one person who’s hard to shop for.

Remember to send in those event notices to terin.bbm@gmail.com so you can everyone know what’s happening with your group or club.
