The total valuation of building permits issued by the city of Mesquite in September was largely affected by one permit for the new assisted living memory center on Bertha Howe Avenue that is worth $6.965 million.
Overall, the city issued 123 permits valued at $13.801 million. That compares to a year ago when the city issued 120 permits valued at $6.8 million.
The number of permits issued for single-family residences fell to 26 this year compared to 30 issued in September 2017. The value of this year’s permits is $5.560 million compared to last year’s value of $6.079 million.
Pulte Homes took out 14 permits for new single-family homes in Sun City Mesquite. Nevada Residential Construction took out five permits, LHSC took out three permits and Construction West took out two permits. Jackson Contracting and Catamount Development each took out one permit.
The most expensive single-family home permit was valued at $329,004 while the lowest valued permit was $142,896.
Residential modification permits rose to eight this year valued at $48,127 from last year’s two valued at $7,056.
The city issued four commercial modification permits valued at $164,467. In September 2017, the city issued two permits in this category valued at $16,390.
Both last year and this year the city issued four new business permits.
The number of permits for block walls fell to 13 this September compared to 15 last year but the value rose to $762,473 from $401,519.
The number of permits for swimming pools held steady at nine.
One grading permit was issued by the city for work on Marilyn Parkway.
