The Mesquite Local News received this information Monday, Aug. 27.
“It is with heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of my mother, Doris, last night. Mom passed quickly and peacefully, but the hole she leaves in our hearts and in our family is not easily filled. Her smile was warm and soothing, her company so rich and satisfying, and her love so complete and nourishing.
Mom was stricken by a lymphoma cancer that took away her strength and appetite. It was diagnosed only about a month ago, but it moved quickly and Mom chose to cherish the quality of the life she had left with Dad and us, rather than embark on chemo or other advanced medical treatments.
It is hard for me to believe that she was in Mesquite for the 4th of July, but now no longer with us. I am grateful that I was able to spend so much time with her in the last month, and to provide as much comfort as I could. If there is a lesson I want to share with you, is that you should try to prioritize time with the people you love and tell them you love them as much as you can.
With love and appreciation,
Greg Lee and family”
