Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 141 total incidents in the blotter:

April 29:

Traffic Stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop which resulted the driver being arrested and charged.

April 30:

Property damage, non-vandalism: Responded to report of property damage at a Riverside Rd. complex. Unknown person(s) had driven an unknown vehicle into the side of the building causing damage to the exterior wall.

Dead body: Officers responded to a Pulispher Ln. residence on a welfare check. An adult male was found deceased. Corner responded for an investigation.

Controlled substance problem: Officer responded to the detention center on a report of an inmate in possession of a controlled substance. Officer collected evidence which tested positive for illegal substance. Evidence processed and subject charged with additional charges.

Hit & Run: Responded to a report of a hit & run in the parking lot of a local business. Unknown person/vehicle hit the right rear of a parked car. No suspect(s) or witness(s).

Threatening: Responded to a report of threatening. R/P wanted to make a report of threatening against her neighbor as a matter of record.

Lost Property: A male reported he lost his wallet.

Fire: Officers responded to Riverside Rd. apartment fire and assisted with scene security.

May 1:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded on a report of a motor vehicle accident. Minor injuries were reported and a report was completed.Theft from vehicle: Officer responded to a storage facility on a report of theft form a motor vehicle. A report was completed.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Dispatched to a private property non-injury accident. On arrival, drivers stated that V2 was parked in a parking space and V1 backed into her right side. Damage to V2 was dents and paint transfer along the right side passenger and rear passenger door. Damage to V1 was slight dents and paint transfer to the right rear bumper. Insurance information forms were exchanged; nothing further.

Graffiti: Officer spoke with management regarding graffiti at a N. Sandhill Blvd. business. Photos taken and management advised they would clean it up.

Property damage, non-vandalism: Took a report of property damage to an unattended vehicle. No suspect, witness or evidence.

Theft: Officer took a report of fuel theft from a local construction site.

Trespassing: Officer responded to a report of trespassing at a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino. One adult female was cited and released.May 2:Hit & Run: Officer completed a report on a hit and run accident.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officers responded to a two vehicle accident with no injuries.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino to assist security on a trespass of a male and female suspected of stealing points from other guests players cards. One male was taken into custody for local and state warrants, possession of a scheduled 1 & II controlled substance, trespassing and obstructing. One female was taken into custody for possession of a scheduled 1 & 2 controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia.

Welfare check: Officer completed a written report on a welfare check.

Theft: Officer is investigating a theft. Officer is waiting for the home owner to return to Mesquite to continue the investigation.

Citizen assist: Officer completed a welfare check on an elderly woman.

DUI: An officer observed a traffic offense and conducted a traffic stop. One male was taken into custody for DUI alcohol.

Animal bite: Officers were dispatched to Moss Dr., in reference to a possible fight. It was later discovered an adult male subject had been attacked and bitten by an unknown dog.May 3:

Trespassing: An officer was dispatched to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino, in reference to a trespass violator. An intoxicated adult male was cited and released for trespassing.

Theft: Officers issued a female adult a citation for petit larceny from a W. Pioneer Blvd retail store. The female adult was trespassed by an employee for all stores nationwide.

Found property: An Officer received some found property turned in by the Department of Motor Vehicles.  The officer is attempting to return the property to the rightful owner.

Suspicious person: Officers responded to a suspicious activity at a W. Pioneer Blvd. business. One female adult was arrest on a warrant.

Suspicious person: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department, in reference to a suspicious situation.

May 4:

Suspicious person: Officer completed a property damage report.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officers responded to a single vehicle rollover accident with no injuries.

DUI: Officers responded to the parking lot of an E. Pioneer Blvd. business reference a possible DUI. One male adult was arrested for DUI.

Domestic trouble: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. casino reference a domestic battery incident. Contact was made with an adult male and female and the female was arrested for domestic battery.

May 5:

Theft: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino on a report of a male and female defrauding an innkeeper. One male was cited for defrauding an innkeeper.

Stolen vehicle: Officer completed a report on a stolen vehicle from an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino parking lot.

Domestic violence: Officers responded to a domestic battery call at a Mesa Blvd. residence. After a foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested for domestic battery and obstruction.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino, in reference to a theft.  An adult female subject was taken into custody for possession of stolen property and breach of peace.
