Virgin Valley’s boys and girls swim teams defeated Mojave, but came up short against Rancho in dual meets held March 22 at the Adelson School natatorium in Las Vegas.

The Bulldogs toppled Mojave 108-36 while the Lady Bulldogs were victorious over the Lady Rattlers 139-60. Virgin Valley wasn’t as lucky against Rancho, however, with the boys falling 112-92 and the girls losing 129-88.

On the boys’ side, the 200 freestyle relay team of Andrew Memmott, Keaton Ogden, Jared Memmott and Keith Rushton swam a 1:59.03 to finish first against both Mojave and Rancho. The 200 medley relay team of Angel DeSantiago, Dylan Wilson, Hiram Rivera and Alec Brandes posted a 2:37.19 team to place first against Mojave while finishing second to Rancho.

Individually, Andrew Memmott captured the 50 free (27.75) and 100 free (1:02.47) against Mojave while Ogden won the 200 free (2:41.37) and Wilson the 100 breaststroke (1:46.18) against the Rattlers. Memmott and Ogden’s times were also good enough to finish first against Rancho.

On the girls’ side, the team of Kennedi Ludvigson, Sydney Ludvigson, Kallie Graves and Taylor Waite swam to victories in both the 200 freestyle relay (2:12.41) and 200 medley relay (2:26.81) against both Mojave and Rancho.

Aileen Quinones was a double winner on the day posting a time of 1:21.11 in the 100 free to finish first in both duals.

Graves swam the 200 IM in 3:14.15 to place first against Mojave while Waite captured the 50 free (31.22). Kennedi Ludvigson won the 100 breaststroke (1:33.47) and Sydney Ludvigson was first in the 100 backstroke (1:27.94) against the Lady Rattlers. All four swimmers were second against the Lady Rams.

Honney Joseph had a time of 2:56.75 in the 200 free that was good enough for first place against Rancho.
