The Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldog basketball teams hosts their Sixth Annual Bulldog Invitational Dec. 18 and 19 in the Dawg House. Three-time winner Panguitch High School (Utah) is a huge favorite to repeat as champion. The 7-0 Bobcats are reigning Utah 1-A champions.
Last year’s runner up Dixie High School (Utah) returns again to battle the Panguitch team. The Flyers lost last to powerhouse Spring Valley 68-50 in Las Vegas.
It will be a tough row to hoe for the Nevada schools in the tournament as VVHS, Mojave, Moapa Valley, Tech and Wells have losing records. Sierra Vista comes in with a 3-2 record to lead Nevada schools. VVHS can compete with most teams in the tourney but will have a tough time against the Panguitch pressing defense.
