Mesquite Fire & Rescue brought the REAL Santa and Mrs. Claus to town… oh, and Mayor Al Litman and Councilman Geno Withelder as well!
Stopping before heading to the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony are, from left to right, Santa Claus, Mayor Al Litman, Mrs. Claus, and Councilman Geno Withelder.
Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue – Scenic Branch was voted as the Best Lights Display for the parade. They will keep the trophy for the year, which was paid for and donated by the Eureka Casino Resort.
By the end of the night, most of the community had left, but that didn’t stop Roberta Franco, far right, from announcing that the Mesquite Police Department had won the ‘most food’ award for the year, bringing in 448 pounds of food for the local food banks.

Congratulations to all who organized the Light Parade. It is a wonderful addition
to Mesquite’s holiday celebration, and a great family event. Thanks to all those
who entered the parade and attended the Christmas Tree Lighting. It was a
beautiful evening.
Merry Christmas!
It was so nice to see all the different floats and how many there were and all kids loved seeing Santa many times. Great parade and hope more floats next yr.
